Ceremony Marks Start of Work on Gobindagonj Hospital

On the 19th of March 2017, contractors moved into the site and building of the hospital began. Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, People’s Republic of Bangladesh along with the local MP. Mr. Mohibur Rahman Manik laid the foundation stone. The founding directors of Zam Zam Healthcare Ltd, Mr. Ayub Korom Ali, Kazi Angur Miah, Mr. Omar Ali and Kazi Dr. Tunu Miah (PhD.) travelled from London to participate in the event. London based directors were joined by Chairman Akhlakur Rahman, a locally based director who also sold the land to the company to build the hospital.

Following the foundation laying ceremony the dignitaries gathered at the Bridge Academy Auditorium with local guests where the company directors spoke. Ayub korom Ali, Chairman of Zam Zam Healthcare Ltd made a presentation on the hospital, outlining its vision and overall design and plans. Some 700 people attended the event. The atmosphere was jubilant with people from all walks of life welcoming the initiative.

Work on the boundary walls and earth filling is now in progress. The next phase will be the constructions of the main hospital building and staff quarters. The directors hope that this will commence in Autumn 2017.
