Hospital construction Update as of late August 2017

Gobindagonj Hospital in course to open its doors in 2020 inshallah. Site preparation work is in full swing, although recent flooding has interrupted the work slightly. Construction work on buildings will start in December 2017.

Ceremony Marks Start of Work on Gobindagonj Hospital

On the 19th of March 2017, contractors moved into the site and building of the hospital began. Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, People’s Republic of Bangladesh along with the local MP. Mr. Mohibur Rahman Manik laid the foundation stone. The founding directors of Zam Zam Healthcare Ltd, Mr. Ayub Korom Ali, Kazi Angur Miah, Mr. Omar Ali and Kazi Dr. Tunu Miah (PhD.) travelled from London to participate in the event. London based directors were joined by Chairman Akhlakur Rahman, a locally based director who also sold the land to the company to build the hospital.

Following the foundation laying ceremony the dignitaries gathered at the Bridge Academy Auditorium with local guests where the company directors spoke. Ayub korom Ali, Chairman of Zam Zam Healthcare Ltd made a presentation on the hospital, outlining its vision and overall design and plans. Some 700 people attended the event. The atmosphere was jubilant with people from all walks of life welcoming the initiative.

Work on the boundary walls and earth filling is now in progress. The next phase will be the constructions of the main hospital building and staff quarters. The directors hope that this will commence in Autumn 2017.

Dr. Abdul Gafoor is a Pediatrician from the Prestigious Govt. Medical college of Trivandrum, India state of Kerala. After his Post graduation he worked for a couple of years with the Ministry of Health Oman before moving to UAE through one of his friend’s invitation. In Ajman, he started a private clinic in 1998 with his wife Dr. Shinu who is a Prosthodontist from University College, London.

He gradually expanded his practice, Ibinsina Medical Centre, by adding various specialist colleagues and state of the art diagnostic facilities, which has become the most popular private ambulatory healthcare provider in the Emirate of Ajman with four Medical Centres and five pharmacies. Ibinisina was the pioneer in bringing Accredited CME programs in the Northern Emirates in Association with Ministry of Health.

He is also the founder Chairman of the first custom-built private Hospital in Ajman, which was built in Partnership with the Rule’s court of Ajman, Amina Hospital has 125,000 sq. ft of built up area with 100 beds, four operating rooms and a well-fitted diagnostic department.

He is also the founder of Woodlem Park Schools in India and in UAE. More over he is involved with various philanthropic activities in health and educational sector.

Amina Holding Co is his investment division with its registered office with Maples and Calder, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai.
